For many years, as I thought upon these heroes of history, a recurring question dogged me. Where are our pilgrims today? God knows we need them now more than ever. For as The Pilgrim Hypothesis will show, they all knew the same secret to our national salvation. It is the secret that built the nation, that allowed us to conquer the world’s superpower to gain our independence, and that allowed us to liberate slaves by the millions—that secret is a covenant with heaven. It’s a two-way promise. If you are righteous, the Lord declared, then will I conquer evil and bless your land.
So again, I ask, Where are our American pilgrims today? Shortly before Billy Graham passed away, I had the unique opportunity
to sit with him one-on-one, and I asked him this very question. Graham told me. Instead of seeking for a single national leader to command a revolution or liberate the captive, that we should look to individuals—thousands of them—working independently of each other but toward that common cause. Working toward that national covenant with God. I believe Graham. And I believe it is time to call these individuals together. This book by my good friend Tim Ballard is that call.

Make & Keep Covenants
When we exercise faith God gives us opportunities to make covenants. Similar to Moses, when we covenant, we promise to obey commandments given by the Lord. In return, he promises protection and further blessings. Making those covenants, however, is only the initial step. We must keep these covenants to receive the promised abundance. We learn from the Pilgrims the result of both keeping these covenants and breaking them. Where do we fall today, are we keeping the covenants made on this land? What can we learn from the examples of the past?

EXERCISE FAITH
Throughout our life, we are faced with crossroads. With each pivot point comes inspiration. What we do in response to that inspiration can define not only us but generations to come. History records evidence of heroes that heed the promptings that result in world-changing movements. The Pilgrims exercised their faith by stepping onto the Mayflower. They left comfort and security for a world of the unknown.

WITNESS THE HAND OF THE LORD
Through an investigation of history, we see, as recorded by the Pilgrims, that by following these steps, when insurmountable challenges arise, we can expect to see miracles. Obstacles will come to tear down our faith, but, as we stay consistent in exercising faith and keeping covenants, then we can expect to witness the hand of the Lord.

Pilgrim Hypothesis
America is a country with deep-seated roots of faith planted by pilgrims seeking religious independence. It was these men and women who paved the way for a free nation under God in this promised land—but what if those early voyages were brought here for a much greater purpose? What if their arrival in this new land heralded the fulfillment of ancient prophecy: laying the foundation of the country that would allow for the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the beginning of the gathering of scattered Israel?
